What is absolute Truth? BIBLE MEDITATION:
“Pilate therefore said to Him, “Are You a king then?” Jesus answered, “You say rightly that I am a king. For this cause I was born, and for this cause I have come into the world, that I should bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears my voice.” John 18:37;
ENCOURAGING WORD:
In these days in which we live “truth” has become a word with virtually no meaning at all. I hear people say quite often, “you have your truth and I have my truth”. That has to be without a doubt one of the most idiotic (showing complete lack of thought or common sense) remarks that I have ever heard. It would make more sense if they would say, “I have my opinion and you have yours”. The word “truth” is a word that I doubt if many people really understand how to apply it to mean what it really means. Let me give you the best description of what truth means. I heard this from a very good Bible scholar and he nailed it on the head, “truth is when the word and the deed become one”. The best example of this description is written in the scriptures of the Bible. John 1:14; “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.” All through the Old Testament, prophets of God were sent to proclaim the soon arrival of their long awaited Messiah. Some of these prophecies were spoken of hundreds of years in advance of when they actually took place. We read in Isaiah 7:14; “Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel.” Then we jump forward a few hundred years or more and read this prophecy in the book of Matthew, 1:18-23; “Now the birth of Jesus Christ was as follows: After His mother Mary was betrothed to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Spirit. Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not wanting to make her a public example, was minded to put her away secretly. But while he thought about these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take to you Mary your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit. And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.” So all this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying: “Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,” which is translated, “God with us.” Shortly after the angel of the Lord warned Joseph in a dream that Mary would soon deliver the Messiah, just as the prophets of old proclaimed, she gave birth to the Jesus Christ. The prophecies that were spoken (THE WORD) and the prophecies were fulfilled just as foretold, (THE DEED) became one…Truth, undisputed truth.
The example above is the most obvious example of truth and yet billions of people throughout our world deny the truth of Jesus Christ and the virgin birth. It is no wonder why so many people do not know what truth is. We go to another example of what should be the most important truth where the word and the deed became one. We read in Daniel 9:26; “And after the sixty-two weeks, Messiah shall be cut off, (Crucified) but not for Himself; and the people of the prince who is to come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary. The end of it shall be with a flood, and till the end of the war desolations are determined.” Just a little side note that might be of interest to those that understand, (the prince who is to come is reference to the antichrist), the people who destroyed Jerusalem were the Romans. If you read this in the context in which it is written, then the antichrist will be a Roman according to this prophecy. Back to the truth of the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, we read in John 19:17-19; “And He, bearing His cross, went out to a place called the Place of a Skull, which is called in Hebrew, Golgotha, where they crucified Him, and two others with Him, one on either side, and Jesus in the center. Now Pilate wrote a title and put it on the cross. And the writing was: “JESUS OF NAZARETH, THE KING OF THE JEWS.” There are hundreds of prophecies proclaiming the birth, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ that all have come to fruition with 100% accuracy. Coincidence, I think not, only a fool would dispute the truth of the Bible. That brings me to another verse that needs mentioning as too validate what I just said, Psalm 14:1; “The fool hath said in his heart, there is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.”
Every prophecy concerning the first coming of Jesus Christ has been fulfilled exactly as it was told. Now for the question that we all need to ask ourselves, if the prophecies concerning the first coming of Christ all came true, why would we dispute the truth that all the prophecies of his second coming will also come true. We see the same thing happening in our time that happened back in the days of the prophets, they were mocked, laughed at and even martyred for proclaiming a truth that was in their near future. And because of their disbelief, we read what Jesus said in Luke 19:41-44; “Now as He (Jesus) drew near, He saw the city and wept over it, saying, “If you had known, even you, especially in this your day, the things that make for your peace! But now they are hidden from your eyes. For days will come upon you when your enemies will build an embankment around you, surround you and close you in on every side, and level you, and your children within you, to the ground; and they will not leave in you one stone upon another, because you did not know the time of your visitation.” This prophecy spoken of by Jesus Christ happed just as He said it would in 70 AD. It is because of the Jews rejection of the truth of Jesus Christ being who He said He was, that they have been temporarily spiritually blinded for the last two thousand years. This was the price that they paid for not believing the prophecies that were told to them by all the prophets that were sent by God. We read an interesting verse in John 8: 31-32; “Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in my word, you are my disciples indeed. 32 And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” Most people would ask, “Free from what?” Before I answer this question let me give you another verse that ties in with what this means. 2 Timothy 1:7; “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” Now back to what Jesus said, ““If you abide in my word, you are my disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” One thing that you will be free from if you truly believe and trust in Jesus Christ is fear! This is what really concerns me as we continue in these days of uncertainty, “why are so many so-called Christians running around in fear?” I believe God is giving us a trail run to see who really trusts in Him and those who are only giving lip service. Here is a verse that can very well explain what is being said, Matthew 7:21-23; “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’ So, are you trusting in the Word of God or are you just giving it lip service? Your actions speak much louder than your words. Keep this in mind, you may be fooling people around you into believing that you are some kind of wonderful Christian, but God knows your heart and that is all that matters.
Now let’s bring it up to date where we see the same thing happening today. God has sent many messengers out in the world that are commonly know as born-again believers, but just like in the days of the true prophets they were being mocked, laughed at and even martyred, the same thing is happening today. But those that are proclaiming the truth know all too well what is in store for them as we read in John 15:18-19; “If the world hates you, you know that it hated me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.” True born-again believers are well aware of how they will be treated, so they are not threatened by the world and what is taking place. Just as the prophets of old, modern day messengers of God are also willing to die for their faith. The world cannot kill a true believer in Christ, sure, they can removed them from this God-forsaken planet, but their next breath that they take will be in the presence of Jesus Christ and they will live forever in the most perfect environment that we can not even imagine. A question to ponder is this, “would you rather be loved and respected by man and spend eternity in the “Lake of Burning Fire” or would you rather be despised by man because of your stand for Jesus Christ, where in the end you will be in paradise for all eternity! The decision was easy for me as it should be for every God fearing man or women on this planet! If you choose the world over God, then you will parish with the world as it is written. Romans 6:23; “For the wages of sin [is] death; but the gift of God [is] eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord” We also read in 2 Timothy 2:14; “Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.” One more verse that should make you sit up and take notice, 3 John 1:4; “I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth.” John wrote these words, but know this, all the words of the Bible are inspired by the Holy Spirit as we read in 2 Timothy 3: 16-17; “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.”
Our world is so full of hate that they will deny the truth even when the truth is right in front of their nose. I will go as far as to say, that the truth is not always unknown, but it is unwelcome and deception of the truth is running wild. The world that we live in is headed toward a one world government that will be headed up by the most evil man the world will ever see. We are being told so many lies that people are beginning to believe everything that they hear. Another prophecy that will definitely come to fruition is in the following verse Matthew 24:21; “For then there will be great tribulation, (distress or suffering resulting from oppression or persecution) such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be” The details of what this judgement will consist of is clearly written in the book of Revelation. It is written, so is there any reason why we should not believe this will come true? Everything that is written in the scriptures as it applies to prophecy has come to fruition at an unprecedented accuracy rate of (100 %) or is on the near horizon of being fulfilled in the not too distant future.
ACTION POINT:
The future is clearly written in advance of what is coming to our world. You can take it and learn from it or you can reject it and take your chance that the Bible is wrong! What does it say again in Psalm 14:1; “The fool hath said in his heart, there is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.” The Bible is the true and inherent Word of God in which every word and sentence was all inspired by the Holy Spirit. Here is what God said concerning His Word, Matthew 5:18-19 “For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled. Whoever therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.” Everything will be fulfilled right up to the crossing of a “T” and the dotting of an “I” as we would say in today’s language. You can choose to believe or you can choose to reject, the choice is yours! Do not waste to much more time deciding what choice that you will make, the time is running out and like Jesus said in Matthew 24:36; “But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only.” Nobody knows the days and hour, but those that have been watching the signs of our time, know the time is near as we are closing in on the soon return of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! To wait another day is like playing Russian Rolette! Please do not wait another day, give your life over to Jesus Christ today and accept the Holy Spirit into your heart. You will not be sorry that you made this choice. “Written To the glory of God, Inspired by the Holy Spirit!”
