“Today’s Christians appear to have Amnesia”

BIBLE REFERENCE:

“No thieves, greedy people, drunkards, verbally abusive people, or swindlers will inherit God’s kingdom. And some of you used to be like this. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.” 1 Corinthians 6:10-11

WORD OF ENCOURAGEMENT:

Ever since I became a born-again believer, I got to see life on both sides of the fence. I’ve lived a good portion of my life living in sin without understanding the need for forgiveness. During those years I had no idea how critical it was to be forgiven. I remember running into people that were in those days called, “Jesus freaks.” The late sixties and the early seventies. I couldn’t stand to be around them. I felt I was a good Christian boy and I didn’t need to hear their messages for the need to receive Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior and be born-again into the Holy Spirit. The difference between the born-again believers back then verse today is this, those young men and women did not strut around like they were better than anyone else, they were humble and their style of dress was anything but glamorous or high society. Many of them dressed just as Jesus dressed, a robe, a rope for a belt and sandals for shoes. They were humble and preached love unlike what we hear today from the pulpits. They never made you feel like they were better than you. I think that was probably one of the biggest movements toward true Christianity in American history. Millions of so-called hippies in those days turned from the drug scene and free sex to following and serving Jesus as their new way of life. God did a great work in these young men and women to bring the message of salvation to an unrepentant world. This was also the time when many Christians started falling asleep and allowing evil to permeate of culture. At the same time a new breed of Bible believers were merging on the scene.

Now, decades later, we find ourselves is an extremely dangerous era where being a part of a fellowship and attending a church is being attacked more and more every day. Where church goers use to be on the inside looking out, we are not on the outside looking in. Churches are closing at an unpresented rate, because of the persecution that is coming from those that despise Jesus Christ and the teaching of the gospel. But this does not surprise me because I know what the Bible teaches about what will take place in the end days. Here are two scriptures that are truly in place today. 2 Timothy 3:1-5; “But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people. 2 Timothy 4:3-4; “For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. 4They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths.” Friends, wake up, we are here.

This is just a little bit of wisdom of what it used to be like and what it is like today. But I see the biggest distraction toward Christianity today are those that call themselves Christians, but in reality are wolves in sheep’s clothing. They are those that somehow think they are so much better than everybody else. They forget that they were one day in the shoes of the unbelievers, so they treat the unbelievers like they are second class citizens. I can honestly say, if I was not born-again, I would not want to be based on what I am seeing coming from today’s so called believers. Most of today’s so-called born-again believers strut around like they are better than anybody else, which I can tell you from experience, is a huge turnoff to those that we are trying to reach with the gospel. They treat others like they are not as good as they are. If you haven’t heard this before. Let me be the first to tell you, Christians’ are no more loved by Jesus Christ than unbelievers. God loves everyone the same. I’ve hear it said, by a great teacher of the scriptures, someone once asked Gondi, “What is the biggest distraction to Christianity,” and Gondi said, and I quote, “Christians” Christians seem to do more damage than good these days because they continually talk down to people, instead of trying to life them up.

We read this verse in 2 Peter 3:9; “The LORD is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.” This verse is one of the main reasons why God hasn’t judged America yet. God is waiting for everyone to get a chance to hear the gospel and decide for themselves if they will reject or receive His truth, but I fear for those that reject the Word of God, because the time is near where this opportunity will be over and God will judge the unbelieving world of all their sins. If someone approaches you and tries to make you feel like you are less of a person than they are, just say this, “Jesus loves me just as much as He love you” Then think about what you said and start to put those words into action. Jesus does love you and He loves everybody the same, He wishes that none would parish, so take those words to heart and ask Jesus to come into your heart and reveal himself to you. I can promise you by the written authority of the Word of God that you will hear from Him very soon if you are sincere in your asking.

Please do not let these false teachers make you feel in any way that you are not worthy of God’s love. But, with this being said, you do need to receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior or God will honor your choice to live eternity outside of His will. God is giving us every chance He can for us to turn to Jesus Christ for our propitiation for your sins. Your sins need to be forgiven, just as my sins needed to be forgiven. I am no different than anybody else as far as God love is concerned, but I made the choice to accept the gift of grace and become born-again into the Holy Spirit. Here are a couple verses that you need to meditate on until it sinks into your heart. John 3:3-8; Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” Nicodemus said to Him, “How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born?” Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’ The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit.” These Words are very clear and very true. Believe it and live it, this is your choice. God wishes that none would parish, but He gave us the free will to choose who we will serve. As for me and my house, I will serve the Lord! I can only pray that you make the same choice. Written To the extreme glory of God, and Inspired by the Holy Spirit!” Amen!
