What is the current state of America, Ignorance or Apathy? - Author Ron Nelson

BIBLE REFERENCE:

“My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I also will reject you from being priest for Me; because you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children.” Hosea 4:6.

WORD OF ENCOURAGEMENT:

First let’s define ignorance and apathy. Ignorance: (the state or fact of being ignorant : lack of knowledge, education, or awareness) Apathy: (a lack of emotion or emotional expressiveness). A teacher once asked a bunch of students, “What is the biggest problem in America?” A student stood up and shouted out “I don’t know, and I don’t care.” This sums up America in a nutshell. Most of the American people are extremely ignorant of what is truly taking place in our country. They have no idea, therefore they just sit back and let whatever happens happen. Then there are those that understand what is happening, but they really could care less. What did the Bible say above, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge?” There is a very few select people that really know what is happening and they are doing what they have to do to get America back in the hands of the American people. America is on a downhill spin to being completely destroyed because people choose to remain ignorant, or they have just given up and don’t care. I believe that our only hope lies in prayer, God is faithful to keep His Word, but we have to do our part. Once again, I will share this extremely important verse, especially in light of the days in which we live. 2 Chronicles 7:14; “if My (Gods) people who are called by My (Gods) name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” This verse should give us all hope, but we all need to do our part.

We read in 2 Timothy 4:3; “For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers;” We have a whole generation or two that has done just this. They have fallen away from sound doctrine, because in reality, they have never been taught the truth of the scriptures in the first place. We, the true church (born-again believers) have the power to bring about a spiritual revival, but only because of the Holy Spirit that dwells within us. We have no power on our own, but what does the Bible say to us about this, Matthew 17:20; “So Jesus said to them, “Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.The problem is this, nobody takes this verse literally because nobody that I know of has this kind of faith, but none the less, the Holy Spirit that dwells within us has given us the power of prayer. We read in John 14:13-14; “And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.” God is constantly reminding us about the power that we possess if we would only believe. Look what Moses did on the shores of the Red Sea, because of His belief and trust in the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, God parted the Red Sea for their only escape from the whole Egyptian army. There are many prophets of old that had similar experiences trusting in God. King David is a perfect example. He went up against a nine-foot giant (Goliath) with complete confidence that he would defeat the champion of the Philistines. All the others around just continued to let Goliath mock them and their God Day after day. We hear King David say in 1 Samuel 17:45-46; then David said to the Philistine, “You come to me with a sword, with a spear, and with a javelin. But I come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. This day the Lord will deliver you into my hand, and I will strike you and take your head from you. And this day I will give the carcasses of the camp of the Philistines to the birds of the air and the wild beasts of the earth, that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel.” Does it sound like David had any fear, no, he had complete trust that the Lord would deliver him. This is the same power we have if we would just believe. Our power mostly lies in prayer, it is the strongest weapon that we have to fight against evil. Hebrews 4:12; tells us just how powerful the Word of God is, “For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” There is no weapon known to man that is more powerful than prayer. We just need to pray and trust that God will hear our prayers and then watch His mighty hand at work.

I don’t know what lies ahead for our one-time great nation, but I do know Gods will, will be done. As it says in the verse above, if God hears from His people, the true born-again believers, He will do as He promised in that verse otherwise it wouldn’t be in the scriptures. If we take this sitting down and don’t do our part, judgement could come very soon, but, if you are a true born-again believer, take comfort in the next verse. You have heard me quote this verse more than any other verse in the scriptures. Romans 8:28; “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.” My friends, regardless of what the coming days bring, if you are a true born-again believer, you have no need to fear. Everything that happens is working out for the good for you if you truly believe. It may be hard sometime to understand but stay faithful to the Word of God…He cannot lie.
