“The Dangers of Replacement Theology” Author and Writer Ronald Nelson

ENCOURAGING WORD:

Replacement theology is one of the damaging issues in our time that is rising in the body of Christ today as has been for some time now. There are two extremely controversial topics that we are seeing today. One is this idea of replacement theology, and the other controversial topic is the belief in a pre-trib rapture. So, what’s happening today, I believe there is a lot of deception in these last days. That is one of many ways that Satan is spreading his lies to get the Christians eyes off what God says will happen in the end days.

Let me get into what replacement theolog really is. This is a false teaching that every Christian should know about, but unfortunately, they are being lied to from the alters of today’s churches. To start out with, there is a lot of doctrine in the Bible about end times and since God put it in the bible, it must be pretty important. Let me define replacement theology. It’s the belief that due to Israel’s rejection of the Messiah, that the church has now officially superseded (Replaced) Israel as Gods chosen people. This view claims that the church is the new Israel. Replacement theology is sometimes known as super secessionism and there are many different forms of supersessionism. One is a form that just says, God is punishing Israel for rejecting their Messiah which He has done, but not to the extent of casting them off permanently. When Christ came and said He came unto His own, but His own received Him not, He was referring to the Jews that did not acknowledge Jesus as their Messiah. Israel rejected their Messiah at the end of Matthew twenty-three, and Jesus said that you (Israel) are not going to see me again until they say, “Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord.

When someone says “until” that means that whatever they are talking about is going to happen sometime in the future. When Jesus told the Jews that they would not see Him again until they say, “Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord” that means that the Jews will acknowledge that Jesus was their Messiah at a time in the future. This is going to happen halfway through the tribulation period when it appears as if the Jews are at wits end and there is no hope for them. The Jews will then call out to Jesus and say, “Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord,” just as Jesus said they would. It is then that Jesus will open their eyes and their judicial blindless will be removed. So, because the Jews rejected Jesus Christ when He came unto His own, Jesus pronounced judicial blindness to the nation of Israel and this had lasted at least 2000 years, but the time is coming to an end soon, where Jesus will fulfill the seventieth week of Daniel just as prophesied by Daniel and turn His attention to the nation of Israel where He will spiritually protect them during the last half of the tribulation.  

Romans 11:1 is a primary Bible verse that defies replacement theology, stating: "I (Paul) ask then: Did God reject his people? By no means! I am an Israelite myself, a descendant of Abraham, from the tribe of Benjamin".

As Paul often does in the book of Romans, he responds to his own statement with a question. In this case, Paul has just written that God has offered Himself to the non-Jewish nations through faith in Jesus, while Israel has rejected the gospel of faith in Christ. Now Paul asks if this means that God has rejected His previously chosen people Israel. It's a question that expects a negative answer, and Paul gives that familiar answer: "By no means!" Paul points to himself as the first evidence that God has not rejected Israel. After all, Paul is an Israelite and descendant of Abraham. More specifically, Paul writes that he belongs to the tribe of Benjamin. Paul may have become one of the most vocal promoters of Christianity of his day, but he still held on to his status as an Israelite. He insists that God's relationship with Israel as a nation continues. Asj yourself this question, if God cast off all the Jews, then why would God choose a Jew (Paul) to write seven epistles in the New Testement? He also used James and Peter to do the same.

Now. Let me ask this question to all of you that believe in replacement theology. Do you read the Bible, or do you just assume that your pastor is telling you the truth. If you are relying on your pastor or priest for your salvation, you are a fool. Its like playing Russian Rullette with your salvation. They don’t teach the truth, and this lie about replacement theology leads to a lot of other false doctrine within this sect of Christianity. If you don’t believe the Bible is the true and inherent word of God, then you have much bigger issues than believing in replacement theology. If you believe that the Bible is the true and inherent Word of God, then you can’t accept Replacement theory as truth. You better make the right choice today as to what you believe, the Bible or your religious sect of Christianity. One will most likely result in eternal damnation and the other will guide you truthfully through the Bible which may result in eternity with Jesus Christ. Just so you know, believing that God has a plan for Israel does not guarantee that you will go to heaven, but it will send you on the right path if you believe that Jesus Christ died for you and saved you from your sins, and then you need to become born again into the holy Spirit. We must be born again to enter the kingdom of heaven as we once again read in; John 3:3; “Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” Once again, do you believe the Bible or do you believe your religion. The denominational churches teaching is very contrary to what the Bible teaches in many cases.

Key Anti-Replacement Verses;

Romans 11:1: "I (Paul) ask then: Did God reject his people? By no means! I am an Israelite myself, a descendant of Abraham, from the tribe of Benjamin".

Direct rhetorical question proving God has not cast away ethnic Israel. This verse alone rebukes any idea of Replacement theology.  

Romans 11:29; “ For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.”

This verse declares that "God’s gifts and his calling are irrevocable" regarding the Jewish people. Once again, if you support replacement theology, you are calling God a Lier and you are insinuating that Gods doesn’t keep His word. Paul has written in previous verses that God's people Israel, will return to God. This will be through faith in Christ, at some point in the future. Through election—God's sovereign choosing beforehand—this is the purpose for which God has destined the nation of Israel. Why has God done this? The prior verse said that it is because of their forefathers. Those are the patriarchs of Israel: Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. God gave to these three men great and unconditional promises that He would bless them and make of them a mighty nation. Since these promises were given by God, they carried the weight of certainty. The promises were God's gifts. God called the patriarchs to follow Him and He made an everlasting covenant with them that included their descendants. Paul writes that these gifts and calling are irrevocable. Though God later made conditional covenants to bless Israel if they would keep the law, His promises to the patriarchs were mostly one-sided promises based only on His own goodness. Those promises will not be revoked no matter how deeply Israel sins in rejecting faith in Christ as the Messiah. He will always call Israel back into relationship with Himself, even bringing the people of the nation to faith in Christ in due time.

Jeremiah 31:35-37: Thus says the Lord, Who gives the sun for a light by day, The ordinances of the moon and the stars for a light by night, Who disturbs the sea,And its waves roar (The Lord of hosts is His name):  “If those ordinances depart From before Me, says the Lord, Then the seed of Israel shall also cease From being a nation before Me forever.” Thus says the Lord:

What is the main word is these verses that rebuke Replacement Theology? “Forever” When God says something He means what He says and says what He means. Forever means Forever!!! This verse States that Israel's status as a distinct nation before God will never cease unless the fixed order of the sun, moon, and stars departs. I am going to challenge you with this request from the scriptures. If you say that you are a believer in Jesus Christ and have become born again, and you know someone that you love that believes in Replacement Theology, it is your God given duty to make sure that you reach these people with this truth. It could have eternal consequences if you don’t.

Mark 16:15; “And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.” This is a command from Jesus that goes out to all who proclaim themselves to be Christians. If you can’t share Gods Word with others, then  you must be ashamed of Gods Word.

Romans 1:16; “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.”  It's one thing to believe the gospel; it's another thing to take the risk of preaching it to strangers. Paul would have none of that. The gospel message is nothing less than power from God, for everyone who believes it, to be saved. Anyone, everyone, who puts their faith in Christ and his death for their sins on the cross will be justified—will be made right with God—and welcomed into God's family. If that is all true, and Paul had staked his life on it, then what is there to be ashamed of?

1 Peter 3:15; “but sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, but with gentleness and respect;” Peter instructs us to be ready to answer the question our life should inspire: "How can you be so hopeful in such difficult circumstances?" We are told by society that we need to keep our beliefs to ourselves. According to the Bible, the opposite is true. Instead, believers should openly share the good news of redemption through faith in Christ. Finally, it matters how we make the case for Christ. We must present it with gentleness and respect. Christians are not called on to condemn those who are curious about our hopefulness. Nor are we to be cruel, hateful, or hostile to those who disagree. Rather, we should explain our faith without harshness or dismissiveness.

2 Corinthians 5:20; “Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.” Simple terms explain Paul's mission in life. His work, given to him by the Lord, is to take the message of reconciliation with God through faith in Christ to as many people as possible. He gives himself and his co-workers a new title to describe this work: They are "ambassadors for Christ." Just as a political ambassador lives in a foreign land, representing the interests of their home and Lord, so too do Christians represent Jesus and His message to the world. God is making His appeal to the world through His ambassadors. Standing in that position, Paul implores all readers of his letter: Be reconciled to God through faith in Christ.This simple message has not changed in the 2,000 years since Paul wrote these words. Christ's ambassadors continue to implore all who will hear it around the world be reconciled to God by having their sins forgiven through faith in Christ's death in their place on the cross. God is not holding the sins of those who come to Him through faith in Christ against them. That's what the world should hear from those who are in Christ.

Arguments Against Replacement Theology

The Olive Tree Metaphor: Romans 11 explains that Gentile believers are grafted into an existing Jewish olive tree, not a new tree that replaced it. Romans 11:17; “And if some of the branches were broken off, and you, being a wild olive tree, were grafted in among them, and with them became a partaker of the root and fatness of the olive tree,” Paul was making the point that Israel will eventually return to their first nature as the set-apart people of God by coming to faith in Christ.

Unbroken Covenants: God’s unconditional covenants with the literal seed of Abraham remain valid and active in redemptive history.

Unconditional covenants in the Bible are divine promises that God commits to fulfill entirely by Himself, without depending on human obedience. The primary unconditional covenants include the Noahic Covenant, the Abrahamic Covenant, and the Davidic Covenant.

Key Unconditional Covenants that defy Replacement Theology

Davidic Covenant (2 Samuel 7:12–16)

The Promise: God promises King David that his royal dynasty, throne, and kingdom will endure forever.

2 Samuel 7:12–16 “When your days (King Davids days) are fulfilled and you (King David) rest with your fathers, I will set up your seed after you, (Solomon) who will come from your body, and I will establish his kingdom. He shall build a house for My name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever. I will be his Father, and he (Solomon) shall be My son. If he commits iniquity, I will chasten him with the rod of men and with the blows of the sons of men. But My mercy shall not depart from him, as I took it from Saul, whom I removed from before you. And your house and your kingdom shall be established forever before you. Your throne shall be established forever.” ’ ”

What does the word “Forever” mean to you? Forever means Forever, especially when it is spoken by God. When God declares an unconditional covenant with Israel, it means forever. If you support Replacement Theology, you are calling God a Lier! Be careful! Here is an example that might hit home. If you promise something to your son or daughter that is unconditional, then there is nothing that they can do to forfeit that promise. If we, as mortal beings can keep our promise, imagine how much more binding it would be coming from God. Now, a side note to consider. If you have this conversation with your pastor or priest and they still hold to Replacement Theology, then remove yourself from that church immediately, because if they are lying about this, then most likely they are lying about other scriptures in the Bible. Your salvation is at stake here so don’t take this likely. If you don’t believe this truth, then read the Bible for yourself and find out how many other lies are being taught to you.  

Solely Sovereign: This fulfillment rests entirely on God's character, grace, and faithfulness, not on human behavior.

Contrast with Conditional Covenants: Unlike the Mosaic Covenant—which brought specific blessings or curses depending directly on Israel's day-to-day obedience—unconditional covenants remain fully binding and guaranteed by God.

God’s promises in the Bible divide into two major types: unconditional (reliant solely on God’s character and commitment) and conditional (requiring a human response or "if-then" action).

Let me give you a couple of conditional promises from God. Conditional promises use an "if-then" structure. God binds Himself to act, but only after people meet a specific requirement, such as obedience, faith, or prayer.

National Healing; 2 Chronicles 7:14; “If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”

Wisdom; James 1:5; “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God... But let him ask in faith, with no doubting...”

Forgiveness of Sins; 1 John 1:9; “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

Provision; Matthew 6:33; “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.”

There are many more, but this should give you an understanding between the difference between conditional and unconditional promise.

I’m going to end this truth with my personal thoughts. I have made my commitment to God that I would share His Word regardless of what anybody thinks about me. With that being said, I have lost a lot of friends and even more respect from others. I’m not trying to make friends; I’m trying to help people understand the Bible and get away from modern day religions that water down the truth and in many cases blatantly lie when it comes to teaching the Bible. If you are one of those that have turned on me, know this, I don’t care because you were most likely not a good friend of mine in the first place. One day when all this comes to fruition, you will know just how much I truly care that I would risk to losing friends over, but then it will be too late.

I’ll share these few verses that put things into perspective for me.

John 15:18-25; “If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you. Remember what I told you: ‘A servant is not greater than his master. ’If they persecuted me, they will persecute you also. If they obeyed my teaching, they will obey yours also. They will treat you this way because of my name, for they do not know the one who sent me.  If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not be guilty of sin; but now they have no excuse for their sin.  Whoever hates me hates my Father as well.  If I had not done among them the works no one else did, they would not be guilty of sin. As it is, they have seen, and yet they have hated both me and my Father. But this is to fulfill what is written in their Law: ‘They hated me without reason.’

What did they do to Jesus for telling the truth? They crucified Him. I’m just sharing the same message that Jesus taught. You may say, “It wasn’t my fault that they killed Jesus” Well, Actually it was your fault, and mine. He was put on the cross to pay for your sins and mine. It’s your choice whether or not you want to receive His payment for your sins. If you don’t, there is only one eternal destination for you. I’m not going to say where that is, but I can promise you that it won’t be in heaven.

Now to him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you blameless before the presence of his glory with great joy, to the only God, our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen.
