“God Appoints Rulers and Judges”
BIBLE REFERENCE:
“Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God.” Romans 13:1
WORD OF ENCOURAGEMENT:
The government of the United States of America is currently failing to hate evil, love good, and establish justice. The government is accepting evil, even loving evil. America has lifted the blindfold so that one eye can see who is being accused, and then we often fail to render justice for those that are guilty. There is one standard of justice for the politically connected, powerful and wealthy, and another standard of law for everyone else. We read in Isaiah 5:20; “Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; who put darkness for light, and light for darkness; who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!” Unless you are completely blind to what is happening in America, you have to see that we are living in the days in which this verse is describing. The current government supports abortion not only in America but we as a nation are supporting abortion throughout the whole world and it is our tax dollars that are paying for it. This is the major abomination that God abhors, but there are so many other ones. As a matter of fact, our current administration is trying as hard as they can to eliminate God from every aspect of life in America.
Judges 21:25; “In those days there was no king in Israel; everyone did what was right in his own eyes.” Judgment is coming upon the United States unless it changes and at this point it would take a miracle of biblical proportion to save our country. Remember the purpose of government is supposed to suppress evil and they have grossly ignored their duty to do so. Yet, God commands us to submit to whatever government He has established, unless it is contrary to His Word. God’s word trumps evil rulers. We read in Proverbs 29:2; “When the righteous increase, the people rejoice, But when a wicked man rules, people groan.” Why do you suppose the Christians throughout America are groaning and the unrighteous evil doers are rejoicing? If I have to explain this to you, there is no way that you will understand. We also read in Isaiah 10:1; “Woe to those who enact evil statutes, And to those who constantly record unjust decisions,” If you support the evil that is taking over our country, then that woe mentioned above is going to apply to you as well. Everything that our Government is enacting goes against all the statutes of God’s Word.
1 Peter 2:13-15; tells us, “Submit yourselves for the LORD's sake to every human authority: whether to the emperor, as the supreme authority, or to governors, who are sent by him (God) to punish those who do wrong and to commend those who do right. For it is God's will that by doing good you should silence the ignorant talk of foolish people.” In the Scriptures, individual Christians are never encouraged to demonstrate or commit acts of violence in response to repressive governments. With that being said, if you haven’t noticed that all the violence has stopped, it’s because the evil doers got their way. Good Christians don’t openly revolt against authority, we go to prayer as we are instructed to do. We put it in God’s hands. Evil governments have been put in place by God’s to bring judgement upon a nation that has rejected His Word and that is exactly what I believe is taking place. God gave our nation what it has asked for, a nation without God. Soon, God will leave our nation for good and only then will those that have rejected Jesus Christ know that they have boarded the wrong ship.
There is only one reason for Christians to disobey government. That is when they command us to violate God’s laws. Acts 4:19-20; “But Peter and John replied, "Which is right in God's eyes: to listen to you (The Sanhedrin), or to him (God)? You be the judges! As for us, we cannot help speaking about what we have seen and heard." Peter and John are telling us to see what is right in Gods eyes and then determine if Gods laws are being kept or rejected. Acts 5:27-29; “The apostles were brought in and made to appear before the Sanhedrin to be questioned by the high priest. “We (The Sanhedrin) gave you strict orders not to teach in this name,” he said. “Yet you have filled Jerusalem with your teaching and are determined to make us guilty of this man’s blood.” Peter and the other apostles replied: “We must obey God rather than human beings! The apostles were told not to speak about Jesus but there reply was, “We must obey God rather than human beings” In the United States of America, we have had the privilege and responsibility to express our disagreement or approval of our government by voting, but that right is being taken away from us, especially if you are a Christian. We need to vote and pray for your nation and pray that its leaders would come to faith in Jesus Christ.
This message is going to ruffle some feathers, but I really don’t care. I stand with Peter and the Apostles when they say, “We must obey God rather than human beings” If you have never picked up a Bible and read it, you have no legs to stand on if you feel you need to bash those that have. My only hope is that you will eventually get into the Word of God and prepare your soul for what is about to take place. Like Jesus said in 2 Peter 3:9 “The LORD is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.” I personally do not want to see anybody reject Jesus Christ but unfortunately the Bible has this to say in Matthew 7:14; “But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.” Will you be one of the few that seek salvation or will you be part of the majority that chose to spend eternity in what the Bible refers to as “The Lake of Burning Fire?” Remember, after all is said and done, it will be you that makes the choice, nobody else can make that choice for you. Amen!
