“Given over to Sin” Author and Writer Ronald Nelson

BIBLE MEDITATION:

“And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased (Corrupt) mind, to do those things which are not fitting;” Romans 1:28;

ENCOURAGING WORD:

The primary verses describing God giving people over to their sins are found in; Romans 1:24-28; “Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves, who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen. For this reason God gave them up to vile (Immoral) passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased (Corrupt) mind, to do those things which are not fitting;

These verses very clearly state: "Therefore God gave them over to sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity... Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts... God gave them over to a depraved mind..." This passage describes a judicial abandonment where God allows humans to face the consequences of rejecting Him. Now, before I go on I am not judging anybody for the life style that they choose. I’m just sharing what the Bible teaches and if it offends you, you need to take it up with God.

Key Aspects of this Concept:

Context; Romans 1:18-23; “ For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness,  because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them.  For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Professing to be wise, they became fools, and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man—and birds and four-footed animals and creeping things. The phrase "gave them over" appears three times in this passage, signaling a progression of judgment where God stops restraining human sin.”

“First, let me say this, you will never hear Romans, Chapter one or chapter two taught in the denominational churches, specifically the Catholic and Lutheran sects of Christianity. These two chapters specifically rebuke homosexuality. So, if you do not want to hear the truth, you might want to stop reading now. Let me also say, I do not hate those that live a gay lifestyle, I love them just as much as heterosexuals. I have some very good friends and family that live this life style. However, The verse that I just read make it perfectly clear that homosexuality is a sin.  Also, the verse that I read in Romans 1:18-23 teach that everybody knows there is a God, they just suppress the truth in unrighteousness because they do not want to be held accountable for what they do. So, if somebody tells your that they don’t believe in God, they are lying. Everybody believe s in some kind of higher being.

Those that see these verses differently than what they are supposed to mean, are those that God has already given over to their own desires of the flesh. Once God gives you over to your own desires, then you will never understand the truth until you call out to the Holy Spirit for wisdom and knowledge. You will continue to live this lifestyle and believe God is okay with it. Well, He is not okay with it and here is what Jesus has to say about it.

1 Corinthians 6:9-11; “Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.”

If you believe the Bible is the true and inherent word of God, then you cannot deny the truth. If you don’t believe the Bible is the true and inherent word of God, then you have much bigger issues in life than the life style that you choose, and yes, I did say choose. Also, think about this, if you despise me for sharing the truth, then you also despise Jesus Christ and that is not a good idea to call the creator of the universe a liar. I’m sharing this message because I believe that Jesus Christ will be returning very soon, which means, if you are currently living this life style, you still have a chance to repent and get right with Jesus Christ. Once He comes for His church, there will be no more time to repent, and you will suffer the consequences of your decision. I know I am going to be hated for sharing this truth, but if one person comes to repentance because of this message, it will all be worth it to me. What’s ironic is this, those that turn against me are those that I am trying to save from appearing before the White Throne Judgement that they will most likely face when they stand before Jesus Christ. I don’t want to see anybody perish in “The Lake of Burning Fire” so I am willing to be hated for sharing the truth of this message.

Cause: This action (Homosexuality) occurs because people exchanged the truth of God for a lie, worshipping creation rather than the Creator

Consequences: As a result, people are left to impurity, dishonoring their bodies, and, in some cases, pursuing unnatural relations. Remember, we (The believers in Christ) are the body of Christ, if you dishonor your body with any kind of sexual perversion, you are dishonoring Jesus. This means any sex outside the bonds of marriage between a man and a women is sin. If you think getting married to a member of the same sex,know this, It doesn’t qualify you as being married. God does not honor same sex marriage.

Genesis 2:24; “Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.” There is no where in the Bible where God honors same sex marriage.

Meaning: It is interpreted not as God forcing people to sin, but as a divine, just decision to let humans experience the full, destructive results of their own choices. See, God says it is the decision of the human to live this life style, they are not born this way.

Other related, though less direct, references include; Psalm 81:12; “So I gave them over to their own stubborn heart, To walk in their own counsels.”

New Testament verses often cited regarding homosexuality include Romans 1:26–27, which describes women and men exchanging natural relations for unnatural ones. Other passages often interpreted in this context include 1 Corinthians 6:9–10 and 1 Timothy 1:10, which list behaviors that exclude individuals from the kingdom of God.

Key New Testament Passages:

Romans 1:26–27; Mentions women exchanging natural relations for those contrary to nature, and men committing shameless acts with men.

1 Corinthians 6:9–10;  Lists "men who practice homosexuality" (or "effeminate" and "sodomites" in other translations) among those who will not inherit the kingdom of God.

1 Timothy 1:10;  Mentions those who are "sexually immoral" and "men who practice homosexuality".

These verses are central to the traditional Christian view that same-sex sexual behavior is sinful. However, interpretations vary, with some scholars arguing these passages refer to specific exploitative behaviors rather than loving, committed same-sex relationships. Whether you feel a loving attraction or not, it is still a sin in the same way if a man and woman that are married to someone else have sex. Sex between and Man and Woman in a bonded marriage are the only ones that can practice sex any way they feel. That’s it, you can allegorize the scriptures any way you please, but sin is sin. And like I said above, you will not know the degree of sin concerning sex until you submit to Jesus Christ and then, and only then, will you understand. He will open your eyes to truth at that point.

Leviticus 20:13; “ If a man lies with a male as he lies with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination. They shall surely be put to death. Their blood shall be upon them.

Romans 1:26–27; “For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due.

1 Corinthians 6:9-10; “Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites,  nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God.”

God said in the following Bible verse; Matthew 16:24-26; “Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?”

We all have a cross to bear. When Jesus said, take up your cross and follow Him, He is saying give up you sinful ways and follow Him. If you feel a desire to engage in sex with a same member of your sex, that is the cross that you have to bear. You have to give up something that you feel a need for and give it up and follow Jesus. For most men, the cross that we have to bear is our continuous desire for woman. It’s something that we will always feel, but we can not act on it because it is also a sin. Other examples may include, thievery, idolatry, murderous desires and many others. You can’t live a lifestyle that is an abomination to God and still say you love Jesus Christ.

Now, here is the disturbing part of all of this. There is so much hatred that has evolved over this topic over the last decade or more. We all need to stop slamming someone because of their life style. Remember, Jesus loves everybody no matter who you are or what you believe. We should do the same. Now, I’m not saying we should necessarily accept how people live their life, but we shouldn’t make it an issue either. Everybody has sin in their lives without exception. We all need to repent of our sins and reconcile ourselves to Jesus Christ by turning from out sinful ways and accepting what He did for us on the cross. Jesus died for the sins of the world, not just an elect few, although we need to make the next step to have this gift of grace applied to us. Its true, Jesus did die for the sins of the world, but we have to receive this gift. If we do not accept Jesus Christ as out Lord and Savior and become born again, we will not be saved from eternal damnation.

"Born again," as told by Jesus to Nicodemus in John 3, refers to a spiritual rebirth necessary to enter the Kingdom of God. It signifies a transformation, not a physical one, but being born of water and the Spirit (surrendering the old life and being made new)

John 3:3; “Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”

Unless you become born again into  the Holy Spirit, you will remain in your sins, and you will stand before Jesus Christ at the “White Throne Judgement where you will be judged for every sin that you ever committed and you will be cast into the Lake of Burning Fire for all eternity.

Jesus explains that a person cannot be redeemed unless they are "born again." The Greek phrase can also mean "born from above." Nicodemus doesn't fully understand this. People frequently misinterpreted Jesus' spiritual teachings in overly physical ways. The question Nicodemus asks about re-entering a mother's womb John 3:4; is rhetorical; he knows Jesus cannot mean physical birth. He is asking Jesus to further explain the idea. “Nicodemus said to Him, “How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born?”This concept of rebirth is critical for understanding the gospel. Childrenthat inherit the attributes of their parents: to be a "child of God" is no small thing John 1:12; “But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name:” This also implies the associations of change, and pain, involved in childbirth. The change is not on the part of the child, but the pain is on the part of the parent. In this case, the pain suffered by God, in the form of Jesus on a cross, produces rebirth and change in those who turn to Him for salvation.

You have the freedom to choose the lifestyle you want to live, but your decisions will have eternal consequences. There are two places that we all will retire to, spiritually speaking, Paradise or the Lake of burning fire. God does not make that choice for you, but, He will honor the choice that you make.

I personally know a few people that lived the gay life style and turned from that life style to follow Jesus. The experience that they had, they shared with many people. Everyone of them repented and turned to Jesus and gave up the life style that they have been living. They will tell you it is like being born again and their lives have taken on a whole new meaning. They are much happier than they have ever been. A few of them have actually written a book. They were so happy that they had to share their experience with those that need to break away from this bondage of sin and give their life to Jesus.

My friends, you are loved by the Jesus and the Christian body. The world may persecute you for your life style, but a true Christian will love you and try to help you break away from eternal separation from Jesus Christ forever. I will not condemn or judge those that live this life style, but I will point them to the Bible verses that they need to read and then let the Holy Spirit take over from there. Everything in our life is a choice. Some people are dealt a bad situation that they can’t overcome, but for the most of us, we do have choices.

Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments and how inscrutable his ways! For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be glory forever. Amen.

The consequenses of sin, if not repented of will be more severe than anything that you could ever imagine.
The consequenses of sin, if not repented of will be more severe than anything that you could ever imagine.
